Pupil Premium

Introduced in April 2011, the pupil premium is allocated to children who have been eligible for FSM at any point in the last six years (also known as Ever 6 FSM), those who are looked after by the local authority and for children whose parents are serving in the armed forces.

In the 2016 to 2017 financial year, schools will receive the following funding for each child :

  • £1,320 for pupils in reception year to year 6 registered as eligible for free school meals at any point in the last 6 years
  • £1,900 for each pupil identified in the spring school census as having left local-authority care because of 1 of the following; adoption, a special guardianship order, a child arrangements order, a residence order.
  • £300 for each pupil eligible for the service pupil premium

The money is extremely valued by us as a school and is used to support a variety of initiatives to ensure pupils reach their full potential, both academically and socially.  It is important that we receive the funding that is available to support our pupils through their infant education and that all pupils who should be benefiting from the scheme have made a claim.

In September 2014 'Universal Free School Meals' was introduced by the government for all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. However, it is important that parents/carers of children in our school still apply (using the link below or asking at the school office) for free school meals if they think that they may be eligible, so that the school receives pupil premium for them.

Please read the information below which gives details of our Pupil Premium Grant and how we allocate the funding.
